The MAX705ESA+T, manufactured by Maxim Integrated, is a microprocessor supervisory circuit designed to reduce the complexity of monitoring power-supply and battery functions in microprocessor systems. It significantly enhances system reliability and accuracy compared to discrete components.
Key features include a reset output during power-up, power-down, and brownout conditions, an independent watchdog output with a 1.6-second timeout, and a 1.25V threshold detector for power-fail or low-battery warnings. The MAX705 series offers precision supply voltage monitoring, with specific thresholds at 4.65V for MAX705/MAX707/MAX813L and 4.40V for MAX706/MAX708. It also includes a debounced TTL/CMOS-compatible manual-reset input and a guaranteed reset valid at VCC = 1V with a 200ms reset pulse width.
This supervisory circuit is available in an 8-pin package suitable for surface mounting. Its integration of multiple supervisory functions helps improve system reliability while reducing board space, making it ideal for applications such as computers, controllers, intelligent instruments, and critical µP power monitoring.
The MAX705/MAX707/MAX813L generate a reset pulse when the supply voltage drops below 4.65V, while the MAX706/MAX708 generate a reset pulse below 4.40V.
The watchdog output goes low if the watchdog input has not been toggled within 1.6 seconds.
The reset pulse width is 200ms.
The reset is guaranteed to be valid at VCC = 1V.
The device features a 1.25V threshold detector.
The MAX705ESA+T is available in an 8-pin package suitable for surface mounting.
