The MAX703EPA is a microprocessor supervisory circuit designed to reduce the complexity and number of components in μP systems. It offers an active-low reset during power-up, power-down, and brownout conditions, with a reset pulse width of 200ms. This device monitors a single voltage supply, triggering a reset when it drops below 4.65V.
Key features include battery-backup switching for low-power logic circuitry and a 1.25V threshold detector for power-fail warning or low-battery detection. It also includes a debounced TTL/CMOS-compatible manual reset input. The MAX703EPA operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
Packaged in an 8-pin PDIP, the MAX703EPA is suitable for through-hole mounting. Its quiescent current is 200μA, dropping to 50nA in battery-backup mode, making it efficient for critical μP power monitoring applications in computers, controllers, and intelligent instruments.
