MAX6957ATL+

The MAX6957ATL+ is a versatile LED display driver and general-purpose I/O (GPIO) peripheral from Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated. It provides microprocessors with up to 28 individually configurable ports. Each port can function as a logic input, logic output, or a common-anode LED constant-current segment driver. When configured as an LED driver, each port acts as a digitally controlled constant-current sink with 16 programmable current steps, suitable for discrete LEDs and common-anode numeric/alphanumeric displays.

As a GPIO peripheral, each port can operate as a push-pull logic output capable of sinking 10mA and sourcing 4.5mA, or as a Schmitt logic input with an optional internal pull-up. Seven ports feature configurable transition detection logic for generating interrupts upon logic level changes. The device is controlled via a high-speed 26MHz SPI-compatible 4-wire serial interface.

Operating from 2.5V to 5.5V, the MAX6957ATL+ is available in a 40-pin TQFN (6mm x 6mm) package. Its wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C makes it suitable for various applications including set-top boxes, panel meters, white goods, bar graph displays, industrial controllers, and system monitoring.

The device features a low shutdown current of 11µA (max) and supports individually programmable current control for each LED. The 40-TQFN package is designed for surface mounting.
