The MAX6818EAP+ is an octal switch debouncer IC manufactured by Analog Devices Inc. (formerly Maxim Integrated). It is designed to provide a clean digital output from noisy mechanical switch inputs, removing both switch opening and closing bounce after a preset qualification delay. This device is suitable for applications requiring robust switch interfacing, such as µP switch interfacing, industrial instruments, and membrane keypads.
The MAX6818EAP+ features single-supply operation from +2.7V to +5.5V and includes undervoltage-lockout circuitry for correct power-up states. Its inputs are robust, handling levels up to ±25V and offering ±15kV ESD protection, making it suitable for harsh industrial environments. The octal version is designed for data-bus interfacing, with three-state outputs controlled by an enable pin and a switch change-of-state output to simplify microprocessor polling and interrupts. It is pin-compatible with the LS573 octal latch.
The device is available in a 20-SSOP (0.209", 5.30mm Width) surface mount package. It requires no external components and has a low supply current of 6μA, making it ideal for portable equipment. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +125°C.
