The Analog Devices MAX6649MUA+ is a precise, two-channel digital temperature sensor. It accurately measures the temperature of its own die and a remote PN junction, reporting the data in digital form using a 2-wire SMBus serial interface. The device operates over a wide temperature range of -55°C to 125°C and can sense temperatures from 0°C to 145°C.
Key features include a resolution of 11 bits and accuracy of ±2°C (max) for local sensing and ±1°C (max) for remote sensing between +60°C and +145°C. The MAX6649MUA+ supports a voltage range of 3V to 5.5V and is available in an 8-pin uMAX/uSOP package. It is designed for surface mount applications.
This sensor provides two system alarms: ALERT and OVERT, which can be programmed for various temperature conditions. The SMBus interface includes a timeout feature for enhanced system reliability. Measurements can be performed autonomously or in a single-shot mode, with an adjustable conversion rate to optimize power consumption and update frequency.
