The MAX6646MUA+T from Analog Devices is a precise, dual-channel digital temperature sensor designed to accurately measure both its own die temperature and the temperature of a remote PN junction. It communicates temperature data in digital form via a 2-wire SMBus serial interface, accepting standard commands to read temperature and program alarm thresholds.
This sensor operates over a wide temperature range of -55°C to +125°C and can measure temperatures from 0°C to +145°C. It offers high accuracy, with a maximum error of ±1°C for remote measurements between +60°C and +145°C, and ±2°C for local measurements between +60°C and +100°C. The device features two system alarms, ALERT and OVERT, which can be programmed for under/overtemperature conditions, enabling fan control or system shutdown.
Available in an 8-pin uMAX package, the MAX6646MUA+T is suitable for surface mount applications. Its adjustable conversion rate allows for optimization of supply current and temperature update rates to meet specific system needs. The sensor is compatible with 3V to 5.5V supply voltages.
