The MAX6642ATT90+T from Analog Devices is a precise, two-channel digital temperature sensor designed for accurate temperature monitoring. It measures both its own die temperature and the temperature of a remote PN junction, such as a CPU, ASIC, GPU, or FPGA substrate, or a discrete diode-connected transistor.
Data is reported over a 2-wire serial interface that supports standard SMBus commands. The sensor offers a 10-bit temperature data format with a resolution of 0.25°C. It features an ALERT output that asserts when local or remote overtemperature thresholds are violated, with an optional fault queue to prevent false alarms.
The device operates across a wide temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. It can measure remote temperatures from 0°C to +150°C with a remote accuracy of ±1°C between +60°C and +100°C. Local accuracy is ±2°C from +60°C to +100°C.
Available in a compact 6-pin TDFN package with an exposed pad, the MAX6642ATT90+T is suitable for space-constrained applications. Its small footprint and low thermal mass contribute to reduced measurement latency.
