The MAX6365HKA44-T supervisory circuit from Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated is engineered to simplify power-supply monitoring, battery-backup control, and memory write protection in microprocessor (µP) systems. It operates from a low supply voltage of 1.2V and provides a µP reset output during power-up, power-down, and brownout conditions.
This device internally controls the switch between the main supply (VCC) and a backup battery to maintain data or low-power operation for CMOS RAM, µPs, and real-time clocks when the main supply fails. It also offers memory write protection through internal chip-enable gating during supply or processor faults. The MAX6365 variant includes a debounced manual reset input.
Key features include a low 10µA quiescent supply current and a minimum reset timeout period of 150ms. The MAX6365–MAX6368 series is available in a miniature 8-pin SOT-23 package, suitable for space-constrained applications. Precision monitoring of common power-supply voltages like 5.0V, 3.3V, 3.0V, and 2.5V is supported.
