The MAX6314US44D1-T from Analog Devices is a low-power CMOS microprocessor supervisory circuit designed for monitoring power supplies in microprocessor and digital systems. This device asserts a reset signal when the VCC supply voltage falls below a preset threshold or when a manual reset is asserted. The reset remains active for an internally programmed interval after VCC rises above the threshold or manual reset is deasserted.
Key electrical specifications include a nominal reset threshold voltage of 4.39V with ±1.8% accuracy at +25°C and ±2.5% over temperature. It offers a minimum reset timeout period of 1ms and consumes only 5µA of supply current. The reset output is bidirectional, simplifying interface to microprocessors with similar reset inputs, such as the 68HC11.
This supervisory circuit is housed in a compact SOT-143-4 surface mount package. It operates across a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, making it suitable for various applications including computers, controllers, intelligent instruments, critical µP and µC power monitoring, and portable/battery-powered equipment.
The MAX6314 series provides excellent circuit reliability and low cost by eliminating external components and adjustments. It also features a debounced manual reset input.
