The MAX619ESA is a compact step-up charge pump DC-DC converter designed for battery-powered applications. It delivers a regulated 5V output with ±4% accuracy, capable of supplying up to 50mA at a 3V input, and 20mA at a 2V input.
This device operates from an input voltage range of 2V to 3.6V, making it suitable for systems powered by two battery cells. It features an internal 500kHz oscillator and requires only four external capacitors, enabling an ultra-small application circuit occupying less than 0.1in² of board space. The charge pump topology eliminates the need for inductors, resulting in very low EMI noise.
Key features include a low shutdown supply current of 1mA max, with the load disconnected from the input when shut down. The MAX619ESA is available in an 8-pin SOIC package, suitable for surface mounting.
Applications include local 3V-to-5V conversion, 5V flash memory programmers, and regulated 5V supplies from lithium backup batteries.
