Designed with a P-channel MOSFET pass transistor, the MAX604ESA maintains low quiescent currents (15μA typical) and a low shutdown mode current (2μA max). Typical dropout voltages are 320mV at 5V and 500mA, or 240mV at 3.3V and 200mA. The regulator is available in a high-power 8-pin SO package, suitable for surface mounting.

 

Key features include reverse-current protection, foldback current limiting, and thermal overload protection. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C. Applications include battery-powered devices, pagers, cellular phones, portable instruments, and solar-powered instruments.
