MAX5725BAUP+ Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The MAX5725BAUP+ is an 8-channel, 12-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with buffered voltage outputs, designed by Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated. It accepts a wide supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and consumes very low power, making it suitable for low-voltage applications.

This DAC features a fast 50MHz, 4-wire SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE/DSP-compatible serial interface. It includes an internal, precision 3ppm/°C reference that is selectable to 2.048V, 2.500V, or 4.096V. The output buffers support rail-to-rail operation with an external reference and have a settling time of 4.5µs. The device offers a low offset error of ±0.5mV (typ) and guaranteed monotonicity.

The MAX5725BAUP+ is available in a 20-pin TSSOP package and is specified for operation over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range. It also includes a programmable watchdog function for monitoring interface activity and integrity. The DAC outputs can be reset to zero or midscale on power-up based on the M/Z logic input.

Applications for this DAC include programmable voltage and current sources, gain and offset adjustment, automatic tuning, optical control, power amplifier control and biasing, process control and servo loops, and portable instrumentation.
