The Analog Devices MAX5580BEUP+ is a high-performance quad, 12-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed for voltage output applications. It offers buffered outputs and a maximum settling time of 3µs at the 12-bit level, making it suitable for fast-response systems.
This DAC operates from a wide analog supply range of +2.7V to +5.25V and a separate digital supply from +1.8V to +5.25V. The 20MHz, 3-wire serial interface is compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP protocols, allowing for easy integration into various microprocessor-controlled systems. Multiple devices can be connected in a daisy-chained configuration.
The MAX5580BEUP+ provides two multifunctional, user-programmable digital I/O ports. The output buffers can be configured for unity-gain or force-sense operation. Power-up states can be externally selected to zero scale, midscale, or full scale. Software-selectable FAST and SLOW settling modes allow for a trade-off between settling time and supply current.
Packaged in a space-saving 20-pin TSSOP, the MAX5580BEUP+ operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Its features make it ideal for applications such as portable instrumentation, automatic test equipment, digital offset and gain adjustment, and industrial process controls.
