The MAX5442BEUB is a 16-bit, serial-input, voltage-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated. It is designed for high-resolution offset and gain adjustment applications, industrial process control, automated test equipment, and data-acquisition systems.
This DAC offers 16-bit performance with ±0.5 LSB INL and ±1 LSB DNL. It operates from a single +5V supply and features a low supply current of 120µA. The device has a fast 1µs settling time and a 25MHz SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE-compatible serial interface, allowing direct interface with optocouplers for isolation.
The MAX5442BEUB is housed in a compact 10-uMAX package, making it suitable for space-constrained designs. It has an unbuffered voltage output that can directly drive 60kΩ loads. A power-on reset circuit clears the DAC output to code 32768 upon initial power application, and an asynchronous CLR pin provides an independent reset function.
