The MAX542AESD is a 16-bit, serial-input, voltage-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed for single +5V supply operation. It offers full 16-bit performance with ±1LSB INL and DNL over temperature without adjustments. The DAC output is unbuffered, resulting in low supply current and a low offset error.
Key features include a 1µs settling time and an SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE-compatible serial interface. The device also includes a power-on reset circuit that clears the DAC output to 0V in unipolar mode. The MAX542AESD is available in a 14-SOIC package and is suitable for surface mounting.
Applications for this DAC include high-resolution offset and gain adjustment, industrial process control, automated test equipment, and data-acquisition systems. Its unbuffered output can directly drive 60kΩ loads.
