The MAX541BCSA is a 16-bit, serial-input, voltage-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed for single +5V supply operation. It delivers 16-bit performance with ±1LSB INL and DNL over temperature without adjustments. The DAC output is unbuffered, resulting in low supply current and low offset error.
Key features include a 1µs settling time and an SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE-compatible 3-wire serial interface. It also incorporates a power-on reset circuit that clears the DAC output to 0V in unipolar mode. The device is available in an 8-SOIC package, suitable for surface mounting.
This DAC is well-suited for applications requiring high-resolution offset and gain adjustment, industrial process control, automated test equipment, and data-acquisition systems. Its direct optocoupler interface capability via Schmitt trigger inputs is beneficial for applications requiring isolation.
