MAX533ACEE Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The MAX533ACEE from Analog Devices is an 8-bit, quad digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed for single-supply operation from +2.7V to +3.6V. It features internal precision buffers that swing rail-to-rail and a reference input range that includes both ground and the positive rail. The device offers ultra-low supply current, consuming only 0.7mA while operating and 1µA in shutdown mode.

The serial interface is double-buffered and compatible with SPI, QSPI, and Microwire standards, allowing for daisy chaining of devices via a buffered data output. The MAX533ACEE has four DAC registers and supports independent or simultaneous updating of input and DAC registers. Additional asynchronous control pins, LDAC and CLR, provide simultaneous updating or clearing.

This DAC is available in an ultra-small 16-pin QSOP package, occupying minimal board space. It is suitable for applications such as digital gain and offset adjustments, programmable attenuators, and programmable current sources, particularly in portable instruments.

Key electrical characteristics include an 8-bit resolution, a 2.7V to 3.6V operating voltage, and a settling time of 6µs (typical). The operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C. The mounting type is surface mount.
