The MAX5259EEE+ from Analog Devices is an 8-bit, single-supply, digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed for voltage output applications. It features internal precision buffers that swing rail-to-rail and supports a reference input range from ground to the positive supply.
This octal DAC operates over a wide supply voltage range of +2.7V to +5.5V, with a low supply current of 1.3mA. It includes a low-power shutdown mode, consuming only 0.24µA for the MAX5259 variant. The device offers excellent linearity with ±1 LSB maximum DNL and INL.
The serial interface is double-buffered and compatible with SPI, QSPI, and MICROWIRE standards, allowing for a 10MHz clock speed. A buffered digital data output enables daisy-chaining of multiple devices. The MAX5259EEE+ is supplied in an ultra-small 16-pin QSOP package, suitable for space-constrained designs.
Applications for the MAX5259EEE+ include digital gain and offset adjustment, programmable attenuators, programmable current sources, and portable instruments.
