MAX5150BCEE Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The MAX5150BCEE is a dual 13-bit, low-power, serial, voltage-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Maxim Integrated. It operates from a single +5V supply and consumes only 500µA during normal operation, with a shutdown mode drawing just 2µA.

This DAC features Rail-to-Rail output swing and an internal gain of +2, maximizing dynamic range. The 3-wire serial interface is compatible with SPI, QSPI, and Microwire standards. Each DAC has a double-buffered input, allowing independent or simultaneous updates with a 16-bit serial word. Additional features include programmable shutdown, hardware-shutdown lockout, separate reference voltage inputs for each DAC, and an active-low clear input.

The MAX5150BCEE offers a settling time of 16µs (typical) and an integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±1 LSB (maximum). It is available in a space-saving 16-pin QSOP package and operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.

Applications for the MAX5150BCEE include industrial process control, remote industrial controls, digital offset and gain adjustment, microprocessor-controlled systems, motion control, and automatic test equipment.
