The MAX5070BASA+T is a BiCMOS, high-performance, current-mode PWM controller from Analog Devices Inc. (formerly Maxim Integrated). It is suitable for wide input voltage range isolated and non-isolated power supplies, including low- and high-power universal input voltage and telecom power supplies.

 

This controller features a fast comparator with a typical 60ns delay for overcurrent protection. The frequency is adjustable from 20kHz to 1MHz using an external resistor and capacitor. The MAX5070BASA+T has an integrated error amplifier and supports soft-start functionality. It offers a 2A drive source and 1A sink capability, a low 32µA startup current, and an accurate 5% start and stop voltage with 6V hysteresis.

 

The device operates over an automotive temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and is available in an 8-pin SO package. It is pin-for-pin compatible with UC2842 and UC2844 controllers.

 

Applications include universal input AC/DC power supplies, isolated telecom power supplies, networking systems, computer systems/servers, and industrial power conversion.
