MAX5035AASA Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The MAX5035AASA is an easy-to-use, high-efficiency, high-voltage step-down DC-DC converter designed by Analog Devices (Maxim Integrated). It operates from a wide input voltage range of 7.5V to 76V and consumes a low quiescent current of 270µA at no load. This PWM converter features a fixed 125kHz switching frequency at heavy loads, automatically switching to pulse-skipping mode for improved efficiency at light loads.

This device includes internal frequency compensation, simplifying circuit implementation. It utilizes an internal low-on-resistance, high-voltage DMOS transistor for high efficiency and reduced system cost. The MAX5035AASA incorporates essential protection features such as undervoltage lockout, cycle-by-cycle current limit, hiccup mode output short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown. It delivers up to 1A output current, with the actual output current potentially limited by the package's maximum power dissipation capability. An external shutdown feature is included, drawing only 10µA (typ) shutdown current.

The MAX5035AASA version provides a fixed 3.3V output voltage. The device is available in a space-saving 8-pin SOIC package and operates over an automotive temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. Applications include automotive, consumer electronics, industrial, and distributed power systems.
