The MAX490ECPA+ is a low-power transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communications, suitable for harsh environments. Each driver output and receiver input is protected against ±15kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) shocks without latchup.
This transceiver features one driver and one receiver, operating from a single +5V supply with a voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V. It supports full-duplex communication and can achieve data transmission rates of up to 2.5Mbps. The operating temperature range is from 0°C to 70°C.
Drivers are short-circuit current limited and protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry.
