The MAX4895EETE+T from Analog Devices Inc./Maxim Integrated is a VGA port protector that integrates level-translating buffers and ESD protection for VGA signals. It features H, V (horizontal, vertical) translating buffers that convert low-level CMOS inputs from graphics outputs to full +5.0V TTL-compatible outputs, meeting VESA specifications. Each H, V terminal can drive ±10mA.
The device provides high-level ESD protection on all seven outputs: ±15kV Human Body Model and ±8kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge. The R, G, B ports have a low capacitance of 3pF (max) to maintain signal integrity. The quiescent current is a low 5µA (max) at VCC=5V, VL=3.3V, and 25°C. The DDC level-shifting protection and isolation allow the device to interface between +5V VGA signals and lower-voltage graphics cores.
Operating over -40°C to +85°C, the MAX4895EETE+T is supplied in a space-saving, lead-free, 16-pin TQFN package with exposed pad (3mm x 3mm). It is designed for VGA port protection in notebook computers, desktops, servers, and graphics cards.
