The MAX456CPL is a monolithic CMOS 8x8 video crosspoint switch designed to reduce component count and board space in video applications. It features a digitally controlled matrix of 64 T-switches, allowing any of the eight input signals to be routed to any or all output channels.
Key electrical specifications include a high slew rate of 250V/µs and a bandwidth of 35MHz. The device provides excellent isolation with 80dB all-channel off isolation at 5MHz and 70dB crosstalk at 5MHz. Each output is driven by internal, unity-gain-stable buffers capable of driving 400 Ω and 20pF loads.
This crosspoint switch is suitable for applications such as video test equipment, video security systems, and video editing. It supports serial or parallel digital interfaces and is expandable for larger switch matrices. The MAX456CPL is supplied in a 40-pin DIP package for through-hole mounting, simplifying board layout with a straight-through pinout.
