MAX44006EDT+

The MAX44006EDT+ by Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated is a versatile optical sensor designed for color, infrared, ambient light, and temperature sensing applications. It integrates six sensors, including red, green, blue (RGB) sensors, an ambient light (clear) sensor, a temperature sensor, and an ambient infrared sensor, all accessible via an I2C interface.

This sensor boasts a 14-bit resolution and operates within a supply voltage range of 1.7V to 2.0V. It offers excellent power efficiency, consuming only 15µA in RGBC + TEMP + IR mode and 10µA in ambient mode. The device features a wide dynamic range for ambient light measurements, from 0.002 to 8388.61 lx, and a superior sensitivity of 0.001 Lux. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.

The MAX44006EDT+ is designed for applications such as TVs/Display Systems, Tablet PCs, Notebooks, Printers, LED and Laser Projectors, Digital Light Management, Industrial Sensors, and Color Correction. Its high integration and digital programmability provide flexibility for end-product design, with a programmable interrupt pin to minimize microcontroller polling and reduce system overhead.

The sensor is housed in a compact 2mm x 2mm x 0.6mm optical package, making it suitable for space-constrained designs. Key features include optical sensor fusion for true color sensing, seven parallel ADCs, and robust infrared and 50Hz/60Hz rejection.
