The MAX4356ECD+ is a highly integrated 16x16 video crosspoint switch matrix designed for routing video signals in security and video-on-demand systems. It features buffered inputs and outputs capable of driving standard 75 Ohm loads. The device supports On-Screen Display (OSD) insertion through a dedicated 2:1 multiplexer with fast 40ns switching times.

 

This crosspoint switch operates from dual ±3V to ±5V supplies or a single +5V supply, with digital logic powered by an independent +2.7V to +5.5V supply. The output buffer gain is individually programmable to +1V/V or +2V/V. Key electrical specifications include a 0.1dB gain flatness to 14MHz, -62dB crosstalk, -110dB isolation at 6MHz, and low differential gain/phase errors of 0.02%/0.12°.

 

The configuration and output buffer gain are programmed via an SPI/QSPI-compatible three-wire serial interface. On power-up, all outputs are initialized in a disabled state to prevent output conflicts. The MAX4356ECD+ is available in a 128-pin TQFP package and is specified for an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
