The MAX3816ACUE+T by Analog Devices is an integrated circuit designed to extend DDC (Display Data Channel) signals for DVI, HDMI, and VGA interfaces. This device automatically compensates for excess load capacitance found in long cables, restoring signal integrity bidirectionally for both DDC clock and data.
It supports cable extensions up to 60 meters at 100kbps and can compensate for cable capacitance ranging from 0 to 3000pF guaranteed, typically beyond 5000pF. The MAX3816ACUE+T features a holdoff period of 2.5µs to prevent subsequent state changes while the cable channel settles. It operates within a voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V and consumes 25mW under full load at 100kbps (excluding pullup resistors).
This video extender is available in a 16-TSSOP surface mount package and operates within a temperature range of 0°C to +70°C. It is suitable for applications such as front-projector DVI/HDMI inputs, high-definition televisions, displays, computer monitors, and DVI/HDMI cable-extender modules.
