The MAX3815ACCM+ by Analog Devices (Maxim Integrated) is a TMDS digital video equalizer specifically designed to compensate for signal degradation in HDMI and DVI cables. It supports HDMI v1.3 standards and can extend usable cable distances up to 40 meters at 1.65Gbps and 35 meters at 2.25Gbps.
This equalizer is built for signals encoded in the transition-minimized differential signaling (TMDS) format, featuring four CML-differential inputs and outputs, including three for data and one for clock. It offers automatic equalization, eliminating the need for system control, and includes a loss-of-signal (LOS) output that powers down the chip when no clock signal is detected. The device operates over a temperature range of 0°C to +70°C and is housed in a 48-pin TQFP-EP package.
Applications for the MAX3815ACCM+ include front-projector HDMI/DVI inputs, high-definition televisions and displays, HDMI/DVI-D cable-extender modules, active cable assemblies, and LCD computer monitors. It is compatible with HDTV resolutions such as 720p, 1080i, 1080p, and 1080p with 36-bit color, as well as computer resolutions from VGA to WUXGA.
