The MAX3800UHJ is a +3.3V adaptive cable equalizer and cable driver integrated onto a single chip, designed for coaxial and twin-axial cable point-to-point communication applications. It supports data rates up to 3.2Gbps and can equalize signals with attenuation up to 30dB at 1.6GHz, effectively extending the usable length of copper cable in high-frequency interconnects.
The device features differential current-mode logic (CML) inputs and outputs, adjustable output amplitude, a loss-of-signal (LOS) indicator, and a cable integrity monitor (CIM) output. It operates from a single +3.3V supply with a typical power dissipation of 200mW. The MAX3800UHJ is available in a 32-pin TQFP package with an exposed pad.
