The MAX3430ESA+T is a fault-protected RS-485 transceiver designed by Analog Devices. It features ±80V protection from overvoltage signal faults on communication bus lines, ensuring robust operation even under fault conditions. This transceiver operates from a 3.3V supply and includes a slew-rate-limited driver to minimize EMI and reduce reflections, enabling error-free data transmission at rates up to 250kbps.
With a 1/4-unit-load receiver input impedance, the MAX3430ESA+T allows for up to 128 transceivers on a single bus. It also incorporates fail-safe circuitry for guaranteed logic-high receiver output when inputs are open, and hot-swap circuitry to prevent false transitions during initialization or connection to a live backplane.
