MAX3430CSA+

The MAX3430CSA+ is a fault-protected RS-485 transceiver designed for robust communication in demanding environments. It features ±80V protection against overvoltage signal faults on communication bus lines, ensuring device integrity even under fault conditions. Operating from a 3.3V supply, this transceiver supports data rates up to 250kbps with internal slew-rate limiting to minimize EMI and reduce reflections.

This device contains one driver and one receiver, with output pins capable of withstanding faults up to ±80V with respect to ground. The 1/4-unit-load receiver input impedance allows for up to 128 transceivers on a single bus. It also includes true fail-safe circuitry, guaranteeing a logic-high receiver output when inputs are open, and hot-swap circuitry to prevent false transitions during initialization or connection.

The MAX3430CSA+ is available in an 8-pin SOIC package and is specified for a commercial operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. Its robust design makes it suitable for applications such as RS-422/RS-485 communications, lighting systems, industrial-control local area networks, Profibus applications, and multimaster RS-485 networks.
