It features enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection on its inputs and outputs, rated up to ±25kV using the IEC 1000-4-2 Air-Gap Discharge method.

 

This transceiver supports operation from a +3.0V to +5.5V supply and can achieve data rates up to 250kbps while maintaining RS-232 compliant output levels. It includes a unique VL pin for interoperability in mixed-logic voltage systems, allowing pin-programmable input and output logic levels. The device is available in a space-saving TSSOP package.
