It operates over a wide voltage range of +2.35V to +5.5V, making it compatible with lithium-ion batteries. This transceiver features enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection on both TTL and RS-232 sides, rated up to ±15kV using the Human Body Model and IEC 1000-4-2 Air-Gap Discharge method, and ±8kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Contact Discharge method.

 

With a data rate capability of up to 460kbps, the MAX3380ECUP+ is suitable for applications requiring high-speed communication. It also includes Maxim's AutoShutdown Plus feature, which automatically enters a 1µA shutdown mode when no valid signal transition is detected for 30 seconds. The device supports mixed-logic voltage systems down to +1.65V through its unique VL pin.

 

This transceiver is available in a space-saving 20-TSSOP package and is designed for surface mount installation. Its operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C. Applications include cell phone data lump cables, PDA data lump cables, GPS receivers, and digital cameras.
