The MAX333A is a precision, quad, single-pole double-throw (SPDT) analog switch designed for various applications including test equipment and communications systems. It operates with bipolar supplies ranging from ±4.5V to ±20V or a single-ended supply between +10V and +30V.
Key electrical characteristics include a low on-resistance of less than 35Ω (typically 17Ω), guaranteed to match within 2Ω between channels and remain flat over the analog signal range (∆3Ω max). It provides break-before-make switching with turn-off times less than 145ns and turn-on times less than 175ns. Charge injection is guaranteed to be less than 10pC, with off-channel leakage below 6nA at +85°C.
Fabricated with Maxim's improved silicon-gate process, the MAX333A offers low power consumption (3.75mW typical) and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection greater than 2000V. Logic inputs are TTL and CMOS compatible and guaranteed over a +0.8V to +2.4V range, regardless of supply voltage. Analog signals can range between the supply voltages without damage.
This device is available in a 20-PDIP package and is designed for through-hole mounting. Its features make it suitable for portable instruments and heads-up displays.
