The MAX3314EEKA+T is a ±5V-powered EIA/TIA-232-compatible transceiver featuring one transmitter and one receiver in a flow-through architecture. It provides robust ESD protection for RS-232 I/O pins, rated up to ±15kV using the Human Body Model and IEC 1000-4-2 standards.
This transceiver supports a guaranteed data rate of 460kbps and operates with supply voltages of ±4.75V to ±5.25V. It includes a low-power shutdown function that reduces supply current to 1µA while keeping the receiver active. The transmitter output levels are RS-232 compatible, achieving ±3.7V minimum levels while driving a 3kΩ load with 1000pF capacitance.
