The MAX3238EEAI+T is a 5-driver, 3-receiver RS-232 transceiver designed for 3.0V to 5.5V operation. It achieves true RS-232 performance with a proprietary dual charge-pump power supply and a low-dropout transmitter.
This transceiver supports a guaranteed data rate of 250kbps, ensuring compatibility with popular software for personal computer communications. It features Maxim's AutoShutdown Plus technology, reducing supply current to 1µA when no valid signal transitions are detected on receiver or transmitter inputs for 30 seconds. This power-saving feature activates automatically when an RS-232 cable is disconnected or peripherals are inactive.
The device operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and is housed in a 28-SSOP package.
