The Texas Instruments MAX3227ECDBR is a single-channel RS-232 line driver and receiver designed for reliable communication in various electronic systems. It operates with a wide supply voltage range of 3V to 5.5V and supports data rates of at least 1Mbps.
This transceiver features robust ESD protection for its RS-232 I/O pins, rated at +/-15kV according to the Human-Body Model and IEC61000-4-2 standards. It is designed to meet or exceed the requirements of TIA/EIA-232-F and ITU v.28 standards. The device includes an auto-powerdown feature that automatically disables drivers for power savings, reducing standby current to a typical 1µA.
