MAX3107ETG+T

The MAX3107ETG+T from Analog Devices is an advanced universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) controller designed for bridging microprocessor buses like SPI or I2C to asynchronous interfaces such as RS-485, RS-232, or IrDA. It boasts 128-word transmit and receive FIFOs, which, along with automatic hardware and software flow control, help offload activity from the host controller.

This UART controller supports data rates up to 24Mbps, facilitated by an integrated phase-locked loop (PLL), prescaler, and fractional baud-rate generator for high-resolution baud-rate programming. It operates within a supply voltage range of 2.35V to 3.6V and consumes a low supply current of 650µA typical. Autosleep and shutdown modes further reduce power consumption during inactivity.

The MAX3107ETG+T is available in a compact 24-pin TQFN package measuring 3.5mm x 3.5mm, making it suitable for low-power portable devices. It also features integrated logic-level translation on controller and transceiver interfaces, enabling compatibility with various RS-232/RS-485 transceivers. The device is specified for an extended ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
