The MAX3053ESA+T is a CAN transceiver designed by Analog Devices Inc. It interfaces between a CAN protocol controller and the physical bus lines, primarily for industrial systems requiring data rates up to 2Mbps. This device features ±80V fault protection against shorts to high-voltage power buses and provides differential transmit and receive capabilities.
The MAX3053ESA+T offers three operating modes: high-speed (up to 2Mbps), slope control (40kbps to 500kbps for reduced EMI), and shutdown. An AutoShutdown™ function automatically places the device in a low-power 15µA shutdown mode when the bus or CAN controller is inactive for 47ms or longer.
This transceiver is housed in an 8-pin SOIC package and is suitable for surface mounting. It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Applications include HVAC controls, industrial control and networks, printers, telecom, and 72V systems.
Key specifications include a supply voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V, a data rate of up to 2Mbps, and receiver hysteresis of 150mV. The device is specified for operation from -40°C to +125°C.
