The MAX30100EFD+T by Analog Devices is a complete pulse oximeter and heart-rate sensor solution designed for wearable and fitness assistant devices. This integrated sensor simplifies design by combining two LEDs, a photodetector, optimized optics, and low-noise analog signal processing.
Operating from 1.8V and 3.3V power supplies, the MAX30100EFD+T offers ultra-low-power operation with a typical shutdown current of 0.7µA, extending battery life in portable applications. It features a 14-bit ADC for high measurement performance and provides robust motion artifact resilience due to its high SNR.
The sensor is housed in a tiny 5.6mm x 2.8mm x 1.2mm 14-pin optically enhanced system-in-package (OESIP). This compact form factor is ideal for space-constrained designs. Programmable sample rates and LED currents allow for further power savings.
Key applications include wearable devices, fitness assistants, and medical monitoring devices where accurate pulse oximetry and heart-rate detection are critical.
