The MAX2643EXT-T from Analog Devices (formerly Maxim Integrated) is a cost-effective, high third-order intercept point (IP3) low-noise amplifier (LNA). It is designed for applications in cellular, ISM, SMR, and PMR systems, operating across a wide frequency range of 800MHz to 1000MHz.
This LNA features a low noise figure of 1.3dB at 900MHz and a typical gain of 17dB. It supports a programmable bias, allowing optimization of IP3 and supply current. The device operates from a single supply voltage of +2.7V to +5.5V and consumes a supply current of 5.3mA at +17dBm output IP3. It also includes a low-power shutdown mode.
The MAX2643EXT-T is built on an advanced silicon-germanium (SiGe) process technology. It comes in an ultra-small 6-pin SC70 package, suitable for space-constrained designs. On-chip output matching is integrated, which reduces the need for external components and saves board space. The typical applications include 800MHz/900MHz cellular phones, 900MHz cordless phones, 868MHz/900MHz ISM-band wireless data, and PMR/SMR/LMR systems.
