The MAX232NSR from Texas Instruments is a dual channel RS-232 line driver and receiver. This transceiver operates from a single 5V power supply, utilizing charge-pump capacitors to generate the necessary TIA/EIA-232-F voltage levels. It is capable of handling data rates up to 120Kbps.
Each receiver in the MAX232NSR converts TIA/EIA-232-F inputs to 5V TTL/CMOS levels, featuring a typical threshold of 1.3V and 0.5V hysteresis, with the ability to accept +/-30V inputs.
