The MAX232CDR is a versatile RS-232 transceiver IC manufactured by MAX. It is designed to operate from a single 5V power supply and supports data rates up to 250kbps.
This device features two drivers and two receivers, making it suitable for dual-channel communication. It offers robust protection with ±15kV Human-Body Model (HBM) and ±8kV IEC61000-4-2 contact discharge, as well as ±15kV IEC61000-4-2 air-gap discharge protection for the RS-232 bus pins.
The MAX232CDR meets or exceeds TIA/RS-232-F and ITU recommendation V.28 standards. It is available in multiple package options including SOIC, TSSOP, and PDIP, with typical supply current consumption of 8mA. The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 85°C.
