It integrates matched passive mixers, LO mixer amplifier drivers, and an LO quadrature splitter, with on-chip baluns for single-ended RF and LO connections. The baseband inputs are matched for direct interfacing to transmit DACs, eliminating the need for costly I/Q buffer amplifiers.

 

This modulator/demodulator operates from a single +5V supply and is housed in a compact 36-pin TQFN (6mm x 6mm) package with an exposed pad, providing high isolation. Electrical performance is guaranteed over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It is suitable for applications such as single and multicarrier base stations, predistortion transmitters and receivers, fixed broadband wireless access, military systems, and microwave links.
