The MAX1999EEI+T from Analog Devices (formerly Maxim Integrated) is a versatile dual step-down, switch-mode power-supply (SMPS) controller designed for logic-supply voltages in battery-powered systems. It integrates two PWM controllers and two linear regulators, providing up to four outputs. The device supports adjustable output voltages from 2V to 5.5V or fixed 5V and 3.3V outputs.
Featuring Maxim's proprietary Quick-PWM control scheme, the MAX1999EEI+T delivers a rapid 100ns response to load transients while maintaining a relatively constant switching frequency. This controller operates with an input voltage range of 4.5V to 24V and includes features like on-board power-up sequencing, a power-good output, digital soft-start, and internal soft-stop output discharge.
The MAX1999EEI+T is available in a 28-pin QSOP package and operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Its design is suitable for applications such as notebook computers, PDAs, and mobile communication devices, particularly those powered by 3- and 4-cell Li+ batteries.
