The MAX1857EUA47 is a low-dropout linear regulator from Analog Devices, designed for portable battery-operated equipment. It operates from a +2.5V to +5.5V supply and delivers a guaranteed 500mA load current with a low dropout voltage of 120mV at 500mA.
The output voltage is internally trimmed to a preset 4.75V or can be adjusted from 1.25V to 5.0V using an external resistive divider. The regulator features high accuracy of up to ±1% for the output voltage. It also includes an active-low open-drain reset output with a 4.5ms timeout period, a 0.1µA shutdown mode, short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown protection.
This device is ideal for applications such as notebook computers, cellular and cordless telephones, PDAs, palmtop computers, base stations, and USB hubs. The MAX1857EUA47 is available in a miniature 8-pin µMAX package, suitable for surface mount applications.
