The MAX1846EUB+ is a high-efficiency PWM inverting controller designed by Analog Devices (Maxim Integrated) for compact, low-noise, negative-output DC-DC converters. It supports an input voltage range of +3V to +16.5V and can generate output voltages from -500mV to -200V. The device utilizes a current-mode, constant-frequency PWM control scheme to minimize switching noise, with an operating frequency adjustable from 100kHz to 500kHz via an external resistor.
This controller is available in an ultra-compact 10-pin µMAX® package. Its design allows for high-frequency operation and compatibility with ceramic capacitors, contributing to a compact footprint. The high-current output drivers are capable of driving a P-channel MOSFET, enabling converters to deliver up to 30W. The MAX1846EUB+ features internal soft-start and can be used with either electrolytic or ceramic output capacitors.
