MAX17643ATC+

The MAX17643ATC+ from Analog Devices (Maxim Integrated) is a high-efficiency, high-voltage synchronous step-down DC-DC converter. This Himalaya series IC integrates MOSFETs and operates over a wide 4.5V to 60V input voltage range, capable of delivering up to 2A of peak load current. It generates adjustable output voltages from 0.9V up to (0.9 x VIN).

Key features include internal compensation, eliminating the need for external components, and a peak-current-mode control architecture operating in fixed-frequency forced PWM mode. The device supports pulsed load applications with minimal output voltage droop due to its current-limit settings and low minimum on-time, enabling high switching frequencies for a smaller solution size. The switching frequency is adjustable from 400kHz to 2.2MHz.

Designed for reliable operation in adverse industrial environments, the MAX17643ATC+ offers hiccup-mode overload protection, adjustable soft-start, built-in output-voltage monitoring with RESET, and programmable EN/UVLO threshold. It also features monotonic startup into prebiased loads and overtemperature protection. The device operates reliably within a -40°C to +125°C ambient operating temperature range.

This converter is available in a compact 12-pin (3mm x 3mm) TDFN package, suitable for surface mounting. Applications include industrial-control power supplies, general-purpose point-of-load, distributed supply regulation, base-station power supplies, wall transformer regulation, high-voltage single-board systems, and pulsed-load applications.
