The MAX1763EUET from Analog Devices is a high-efficiency, low-noise, step-up DC-DC converter designed for battery-powered wireless applications. It features a 1MHz PWM synchronous-rectified boost topology, capable of generating output voltages from 2.5V to 5.5V from input sources ranging from 0.7V to 5.5V.
This converter maintains low quiescent supply current of 110µA and offers up to 94% efficiency. It supports an output current of up to 1.5A. The device includes Maxim's proprietary Idle Mode™ circuitry for improved light-load efficiency and can transition to fixed-frequency PWM operation at higher loads. A low-noise, forced-PWM mode is available for applications requiring constant-frequency operation.
The MAX1763EUET is available in a 16-pin TSSOP-EP package, suitable for surface-mount designs. It also includes an on-chip linear gain block for building external linear regulators or low-battery comparators, along with adjustable current limit and soft-start functions for optimizing performance.
Key electrical characteristics include a 1.1V guaranteed startup input voltage and a 1µA logic-controlled shutdown. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
