The MAX1763EUE+T is a high-efficiency, low-noise step-up DC-DC converter designed for battery-powered wireless applications. It utilizes a synchronous-rectified pulse-width-modulation (PWM) boost topology to generate output voltages from 2.5V to 5.5V from input sources as low as 0.7V.
Key features include up to 94% efficiency, a 1MHz PWM synchronous-rectified topology, and a logic-controlled shutdown current of 1µA. The device offers an adjustable output voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V or a fixed 3.3V output. It can handle up to 2A of switch current and maintains low quiescent supply current of 110µA.
This converter is available in a space-saving 16-pin TSSOP-EP package with exposed pad, suitable for surface mount applications. Its design incorporates Maxim's proprietary Idle Mode™ circuitry for improved light-load efficiency and low-noise, forced-PWM mode for constant-frequency operation. It also includes an on-chip linear gain block for potential use as a high-power external linear regulator or a low-battery comparator.
The MAX1763EUE+T is well-suited for applications requiring long battery life and compact size, such as wireless handsets, personal communicators, and hand-held instruments.
